William Ford ([July 5, 1826 – December 9, 1905) was an United States business man, also the father of Ford Motor Company founder Henry Ford. William is of Irish descent.

Biography William was born in County Cork, Ireland to Irish parents John and Thomasine S. Ford http://www.answers.com/topic/ford-family-tree Ford family tree], and had one sister named Rebecca Ford (1824-1895). William attended St. Joseph's High School.

On April 19 1850 William married Mary Litogot; they later had five children. After a few years they relocated to County Tyrone in Ireland, in the small village of Ardboe. Ardboe had been the place where William's father had spent his childhood, from 1796 to 1804.

William worked as a businessman in County Tyrone,; his uncle Richard D. Ford was also a talented business man working for James Ferguson (1710-1776).

William retired in 1879 and lived out the rest of his years in Ireland. He died of natural causes on December 9, 1905 in his home, and was buried at Killens Chapel Cemetery just north from his father's home village.
